At the other weekend, my roommate and I went to go shopping hand in hand, like many other young ladies in this city. When it was late, we had bought a pair of Nike shoes, a pair of Gucci sunglasses (of course copy ones), two T-shirts and two pairs of earrings. After that, my friend left her sharp eyes on a new style silk shirt in a display window. Though it’s very expensive, she fell in love with it at first sight. And finally, she slotted her credit card and took it home.

But when she was eager to put the cherish shirt on, we found there was a thread hole on the back. The problem was not very big so we decided to ask the sewing mid-age woman who did sewing work at the gate of a department store. This was our first time to get close to the woman though we often saw her at the gate.

After carefully examine the shirt, the mid-aged woman began to scold us ceaselessly. Like a garrulous mother, she spoke very fast and complained our lack of experience and carelessness. And even became angry and did not want to help us mend the small hole. Both my friend and I felt very strange and even wronged because we had never known each other before. So we felt a little angry and kept silent. Moments later, the mother like woman began to give her suggestions and sewed a piece of small cloth inside the shirt. Minutes later, the shirt became bright and more beautiful. She only charged us 5 RMB as a reward.

After I talked about this to another girl friend, she said: “she is really a mother who is more bark than bite!” Now, mother’s day is coming, I wish this mother a happy festival and all the best!

Since time passes by, the Mother’s Day 2010 is around the corner. Mother’s Day is a festival that recognizes mothers, motherhood and maternal bonds in general, as well the positive contributions that they make to society. Women as mothers have much in common, they love their families, durable and everlasting; they are intelligent and diligent; they are strong in their inner hearts.

Since I entered university and then began to work after graduation, I seldom have chance to stay with my mother even for one week. Both my university and workplace is thousands and millions miles away from my hometown. Though calls often are made, I still feel guilty of being her elder daughter. What we own to our parents can never be fully realized, especially when they are becoming older and older. I even never buy any holiday gift for her, not even a pair of women high heels or any jewelry. In my memory, what I sent to her is only a pair of cheap earrings for her 50 years’ old birthday.

Last Christmas holiday, I have accumulated enough money to afford a journey for my mother to visit my city. That’s her first time to leave the poor countryside and lived in a big modern city for several days. During that holiday, I took Mom go out to the big park; I took Mom to have big meals that she never ate; I took Mom to wander in the heavy snow; I took Mom to watch Christmas movie and shed warm tears together…

That experience made me feel that to be with my Mom is to own the whole world.

Now, the Mother’s day is coming. I catered the popular on line shopping and wished to buy some stylish but cheap gifts for my dearest Mom.   I made up my mind to buy a pair of high heel shoes, a pair of LV sunglasses and two pairs of Channel Earrings for her.

My dearest Mom, hope you can have a special Mother’s Day and always be healthy and happy. At the same time, sincerely hope every Mom in the whole world can receive their special holiday gifts.
